Galapagos: enchanted islands
March 31st, 2012 @ 6:00 pm
Lake Region Audubon
Fee $15.00 Includes seafood dinner and drinks.

Join our in-staff naturalist and photographer Reinier Munguia on a journey through the Galapagos Islands to discover the animals that inspired Charles Darwin back in 1835 aboard the HMS Beagle.

Come aboard as we navigate through the Galapagos Islands witnessing some of the most impressive spectacles of nature. From breeding birds colonies, to humpback whales, and the famous tortoises, there's a reason why this islands are so called the Enchanted Isles. Learn about the volcanic history of the islands and how species were able to adapt to the changing environment. No other place on earth shows the process of speciation as clear as the Galapagos. Individuals form a common ancestor developed in different ways to avoid competition and ensure the survival of the species.

There is something magical about these islands that keep many scientist coming back to explore more and discover new things. Don't miss this opportunity to meet some of the animal inhabitants and glance the beauty of these islands.

You'll have the chance to taste some unique ecuadorian food (seafood or chicken dish).

In addition, there will be a raffle of photos of the unique wildlife found in the Galapagos Islands.

Spaces are limited to 25 participants and reservation is required. Please click the link below to register or contact reservations@lakeregionaudubon.org.
